Norstedts Pocket Swedish Dictionary is perfect when you want to quickly find a simple explanation for a Swedish word.
It is a modern dictionary with a basic vocabulary of 18,000 words and phrases. If you need a more extensive Swedish dictionary we would recommend Norstedts Comprehensive Swedish Dictionary (100,000 words and phrases).
All the definitions consist of complete sentences in which the word in question is set in context. The entry for each headword gives the pronunciation and part of speech. Entries for nouns, adjectives or verbs also give the inflected forms.
The app works off-line, which means that you don’t need to be connected to the Internet once the app is downloaded. Convenient when you are mobile!
As a complement, there is a very useful section on Swedish grammar and an overview of Swedish public holidays and festivals. There is also a digital map.
